Bike Learning: In-school Bike Education Pilot Expands

Riding a bike is associated with all kinds of benefits for young people—improved fitness, confidence, concentration and academic performance, and an increased sense of independence, to name a few. That's why we're working together with the with NYC Department of Education the NYC Department of Transportation to deliver our bike education programs to even more NYC youth by making bicycling part of the regular NYC school day.

Cycling has a superpower: it's capable of bringing folks of all backgrounds, ages, and walks of life together. Bike New York believes that barriers like discrimination, economic disparity, and inaccessibility should never keep New Yorkers from having agency in the way they get around–and that everyone should be able to experience the joy of seeing their city from behind the handlebars.
