With pandemic restrictions relaxing in the past year, New Yorkers were hungry to get out and get on their bikes. The demand for classes, both for adults and for youth, was tremendous, and we were proud to meet our community’s need for bike safety education. In particular, the relationships that Bike New York staff nurtured with teachers, principals, and youth program directors during the past couple of years paid off, and our Youth Programs made a big comeback in 2022. We just received this great and very nice testimonial about Bike New York's Learn to Ride classes from Robin Lester-Kenton of Bedford-Stuyvesant. Robin's son Simon broke through at a class in May held at the Harold Ickes Playground in Red Hook!
Our annual Volunteer Party took place at Battery Harris in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on December 13th. We honored and celebrated our top volunteers, without whom we would not be able to do what we do! Our most dedicated volunteers were treated to a night of drinks, dinner, and a few raffles ! A big thank you to all of our contributors, including New Belgium, Winfield-Flynn, and Battery Harris.
