bike Education FAQ

How do I sign up for Adult classes?

Visit our Adult webpage here.

I don’t have a bike or a helmet. Are they provided?

Our Education Centers are equipped with loaner bikes and helmets for our adult classes. However, our Bike Skills 101: Learn to Ride – Kids classes require that your child bring their own properly fitting bike and helmet to participate, unless otherwise noted.

How do I sign up a child for a Learn to Ride Kids class?

Visit our Youth webpage here.

How do I cancel a class?

Please email classes@bike.nyc. If you know you can’t make a class, please cancel as soon as you can so that someone else has the opportunity to register.

Where is the class located?

Please visit our Education Center webpage. Click on the hyperlinked title of our Education Center to see the exact location on a google map. Kids’ classes take place all over the city – see class registration page for general location, and the confirmation email for exact location once you sign up.

How do I register more than one child for a class?

TBD

How can my child participate in your Summer or After School Programs?

Our free After School Programs are only open to existing youth organizations. If your child’s school or youth organization is interested, contact them directly about signing up. We do offer a free Summer Program option open to the public.

Where do I park my car?

Our Community Bike Education Centers are in public spaces, so, generally, street parking is available.

Where do I put my credit card information?

Our classes are free! Our Bike Maintenance for Beginners is the only class with a fee, and if you’re signing up for that you’ll be prompted to enter payment details.

How do I give you feedback?

Good or bad, we greatly appreciate your feedback! Please email us at classes@bike.nyc.

How do I know if my class will be canceled due to the weather?

In case of inclement weather we will cancel classes at least two hours prior to the start time of your class. Please call the Weather Hotline the morning of class at  929-269-3110.

What if I have a question that's not answered here?
