$50

SUPPORT Learn to Ride at Camp

In partnership with local camps, Bike New York teaches campers from across the city to ride a bike safely each summer! Youth ages 10-14 enhance their bike riding skills while exploring their communities and increasing their mental and physical wellness. This program is offered to camps at no charge.

$100

Support A Bicycle Field Trip

This free program offers NYC Middle and High Schoolers the chance to learn how to ride a bike for the first time or, for those who already know, some bike handling and safety skills. Cycling provides people with a lifelong fitness activity and affordable, fun, green mobility.

$250

SUPPORT a Learn to ride class

Remember learning how to ride a bike? Some New Yorkers never got the chance. At every one of Bike New York’s free Learn to Ride classes, participants make the jump from “non-cyclist” to “cyclist.” Kids and adults will learn how to balance and pedal a bike – a skill they’ll have for a lifetime.

$300

Support Bicycles for Asylum Seekers

Your donation helps refurbish donated bikes for asylum seekers, providing affordable, sustainable transportation for immigrants seeking supportive services. It also includes bike education in native languages. Together, we are opening the door to life-changing mobility and saving waste from ending up in landfill.

$500

Second Chance Workforce Development

Your gift supports a week of bike mechanic instruction for a previously justice-involved individual.  Upon graduation, each participant is guaranteed an interview to become a union-wage bike mechanic for Motivate, providing service and repairs for Citi Bike, the nation’s most extensive bike-share program.

$1000

SUPPORT a Bicycle Education Center

Expand bicycle education throughout the boroughs! This contribution will assist in the purchase of containers, bikes, locks, and equipment. Just as all New Yorkers deserve nearby park space, Bike New York believes that every community should have access to bicycle education and opportunities for physical activity. Once established, each of our Bicycle Education Centers has the potential to serve thousands of kids and adults, bringing bicycling to the masses for years.

About Bike New York

Bike New York is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that promotes and encourages bicycling and bicycle safety through education, public events, and collaboration with community and government organizations. In addition to producing the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, Bike New York offers free classes to the public, training for instructors, and local rides outside NYC. We have grand plans for the coming years to address the challenges faced by cyclists on New York’s crowded streets, and will continue to give people the skills and confidence they need to grab life by the handlebars.
