E-Bike Skills 201: E-Bike Handling Skills
Overview
Bike New York and Citi Bike are partnering to offer “E-Bike Skills 201: E-Bike Handling Skills.” Here’s your chance to try out a Citi Bike and sharpen your electric bike prowess! Participants will learn how to fit a bike helmet, how to perform an ABCD Check on the bike, and how to use their cell-phone apps to unlock the bikes. On-bike skills include safe starting and stopping, using leg power to regulate motor power, how to use hand signals while maintaining control, and how to scan over your shoulder while riding in a straight line.
Note: This class is for adults and teens 16 and up; participants must have good bike handling skills. This class is not for beginner cyclists or people who just learned to ride a bike.

Class Duration: 3 hours
Class Location: Traffic-free Community Bicycle Education Center
Age: 16 and up
Instructors: 2 trained instructors
Equipment: Bicycles and helmets provided
Registration policy: Advance registration required; walk-up students are not accepted.
Pre-requisites: Participants must have a smart phone, have installed the Citi Bike app, and possess a credit, debit, or gift card to activate their account (card will not be charged). Participants must have good bike handling skills.
