Walkway over the Hudson

The Walkway over the Hudson the longest pedestrian bridge in the world, spanning the Hudson River between Poughkeepsie, New York, on the east bank and Highland, New York, on the west bank. Marshals will be directing riders ensuring safety for all on the bridge.

 

Hudson Valley Rail Trail  

The Hudson Valley Rail Trail is a paved 4-mile east–west rail trail in the town of Lloyd in Ulster County, New York, stretching from the Hudson River through the hamlet of Highland. Marshals will be directing riders towards the correct route splits and junctions along the rail trail.

 

Pancake Road Split & New Paltz Road

This location is where the 15 Mile riders split from the rest of the riders and start heading back towards the finish line. The rest of the riders continue on Pancake Road to route 44 towards the Mid-Hudson Bridge. Marshals will be directing riders that will split off the route and those in the 2-way bike lane.

 

Mid-Hudson Bridge

The Mid-Hudson Bridge is a toll suspension bridge which carries US 44 and NY 55 across the Hudson River between Poughkeepsie and Highland in the state of New York. The Discover Hudson Valley Ride will be utilizing its protected bike lane. Marshals will be direct riders to slow down and continue in a single file along the bike lane.

 

Netherwood Rest Area Entrance

This location serves the entrance to the Netherwood Elementary School Rest area, located in Hyde Park, New York. Marshals will be directing riders to their appropriate routes in and out of the rest area.

 

Clinton Rest Area Entrance

This location serves the entrance of Town of Clinton Library rest area located in Rhinebeck, NY. Marshals will be directing riders to their appropriate routes in and out of the rest area.

 

33 Split from 75/100 route

This location is where the 33 Mile riders will split from those completing the 75/100 mile route. Marshals will be directing riders to their appropriate route as well as cutting off the route after the sweep.

 

Marshal Road

This location serves the 3 way intersection between Marshal Road, Browning Road and Rusky Lane. Marshalls will be directing riders in the correct direction at the intersection.

 

Fiddlers Bridge

At the fiddlers bridge riders incur a mandatory dismount on the route. Marshals will be directing riders to slow down and dismount for the entire length of the bridge

 

75/100 Split & 75/100 Crossing

This location is where the 75 Mile riders will split from those completing the 100 mile route. Marshals will be directing riders to their appropriate route as well as cutting off the route after the sweep.

 

15, 33, 75, 100 Mile Sweeps (Riding Marshal)

This is a team of riders that are located at cut off points along various points on the route. They will follow the last rider and signal the close of their respective routes. Part of their job is encouraging slower riders, assisting with any rider needing aid, and coordinating with SAG vehicles when necessary.
