Every year, we teach thousands of kids and adults to ride confidently, comfortably, and responsibly, making New York City a better, safer place to live—but we can’t do it without a good bike fleet. Ahead of Giving Tuesday on November 29, we're asking for your support of our free bike education classes.
Bike New York has Community Education Centers at eleven locations across the city. Each center contains up to 35 adult bikes, helmets, and other equipment. These centers offer New Yorkers the chance to learn a valuable life skill and become safe and secure bike riders.
In addition, Bike New York hosts Learn to Ride classes for children in all five boroughs. Helping parents pass the gift of cycling from an early age.
We can expand our work by replacing our bike fleet. Our $20,000 fundraising goal would allow us to update the bike fleets at two Community Education Centers.
All bikes replaced will go to our shop, Recycle-A-Bicycle, where they will be refurbished and repurposed, keeping the bikes on the road and out of the landfill.
