Help us reach $20,000 to boost our bike fleet.

Biking Made Accessible

Every year, we teach thousands of kids and adults to ride confidently, comfortably, and responsibly, making New York City a better, safer place to live—but we can’t do it without a good bike fleet. Ahead of Giving Tuesday on November 29, we're asking for your support of our free bike education classes.

Bike New York has Community Education Centers at eleven locations across the city. Each center contains up to 35 adult bikes, helmets, and other equipment. These centers offer New Yorkers the chance to learn a valuable life skill and become safe and secure bike riders.

In addition, Bike New York hosts Learn to Ride classes for children in all five boroughs. Helping parents pass the gift of cycling from an early age.

The new bike fleet

We can expand our work by replacing our bike fleet. Our $20,000 fundraising goal would allow us to update the bike fleets at two Community Education Centers.

All bikes replaced will go to our shop, Recycle-A-Bicycle, where they will be refurbished and repurposed, keeping the bikes on the road and out of the landfill.

At Bike New York, we provide access to bike education for New Yorkers with our free classes for kids and adults in all five boroughs, informational school assemblies and after-school activities, and our summer youth programs.

We work tirelessly to promote biking in New York City through education, advocacy, public events, and collaboration with community organizations and municipal agencies. Since 2011, over 186,000 New Yorkers have benefited from our programs and services, including those served through our virtual education hub–improving the lives and communities of New York City. We can't do it without support from people like you!
