Youth Ride Club

Overview

This free program for young people ages 10 to 19 teaches the mechanics of riding a bike, the rules of the road, best practices for riding in a group and on the city streets, and–of course–the joy and freedom of biking. Beginner and experienced riders are welcome. Individuals do not need to be a part of an existing after-school program to participate in Youth Ride Club.

SPRING 2017 SCHEDULE AND LOCATIONS

Mondays, May 8 – June 15, 4PM – 6PM
  • Jackie Robinson Park (all genders of cyclists welcome)
  • Crotona Park (all genders of cyclists welcome)
  • Linden Park (all genders of cyclists welcome)

SUMMER 2017 SCHEDULE AND LOCATIONS

July 15 – August 19, 10 AM – 12 PM

  • Van Cortlandt Park, Saturdays  (young women/trans/femme cyclists)
  • Van Cortlandt Park, Sundays (young men/trans/masc cyclists)
  • East River Park, Saturdays (all genders of cyclists welcome)

All Summer Ride Club participants will be eligible for a free fully supported bike tour with an overnight stay at an update camp ground. The trip will be Wednesday, August 23 – Thursday, August 24. Additional information for Spring and Summer Ride Clubs will be distributed to those who register, starting March 27, 2017.
